Labor Day weekend is rapidly approaching and that means the North Coast Music Festival, Summer’s Last Stand, is just around the corner. The music festival that takes a healthy dose of EDM, throws in some hip-hop, a sprinkling of jam band funk, and rounds it out with some eclectic pop and rock bands will be taking over Union Park for three days of non stop music. The mixture of styles that NCMF brings together is surprisingly inviting and makes for an undoubtedly fun time.
As with any good festival, the partying doesn’t end when the festival grounds close. North Coast Music Festival just announced their lineup of NCMF Afters, which will offer plenty of opportunities throughout Chicago to keep on grooving to some of the best acts from the fest. There will be four official after shows very night of the music festival with an emphasis on late night club atmosphere. Highlights include a DJ set by Sleigh Bells, whose penchant for creating catchy and energetic songs should transition to a worthwhile night of music curated by the band, and local rappers Joey Purp & Saba sharing the bill over at Bottom Lounge.
Tickets for a majority of the shows are still available, but with so many of the acts having a frantic fan following a couple of shows have sold out. Umphey’s McGee for example tore through their available tickets and advance male tickets to Galantis are also gone. So jump on the chance to get to these shows quickly because they may be gone sooner than you think.
