Millennium Park Film Series Announces 2017 Lineup: Hidden Figures, La La Land and More

Photograph courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox With the breezy 80 degree afternoons we had this past weekend, it’s becoming clear that spring is finally here and summer is just around the corner. If you’re looking for yet another sign, look no further than the roster of films that are going to be screened at Millennium Park over the next few months. It’s become a yearly tradition to grab some friends, a few drinks, and a blanket to watch a movie beneath the downtown city lights. This year is no different as the Millennium Park Film Series returns for another season. The standouts this year appear to be the Oscar winning Hidden Figures (August 15) and La La Land (July 18). Other highlights include The Blues Brothers (June 13), a double feature of Ghost and The Shining (August 8), and Julie and Julia (June 27). We’re also quite excited for the the festival’s first Spanish language film; the Oscar winning examination of immigration, El Norte (July 11). The series wraps up on September 5 with Wayne’s World, which recently turned 25. The Millennium Park Film Series takes place throughout the summer at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion (201 E. Randolph St). All films start at 6:30pm unless otherwise noted. Millennium Park is BYOB. Admission is free and open to the public. Check out the full lineup below.
