Color Television Releases Video to Support New Album, The Hadron Pond It's difficult to describe Color Television's sound in words. His upcoming full-length debut album, The Hadron Pond, blends jazz, ambient soundscapes, melodic noise, samples, and analog and digital sounds into a collage. But maybe it's better for you to take a listen. Hayden Beck, the man behind the vision, recorded the album this past winter here in Chicago. He avoided using a computer on this album for anything other than the recording process, and he later got it mastered at Experimental Sound Studio. The music video for the track "It's A Feeling" gives us a glimpse inside Beck's mind alongside director Jared Netzel's masterful video editing and cuts. The song also gives a taste of the album in three and a half minutes: groove hooks and layers of keyboards and ambient sounds stacked on top of sustained, soulful falsetto vocals. Beck took over The Empty Bottle one night last April, and he'll be playing at the Elbo Room on Sunday, June 11th with sandor. To stream the upcoming Color Television album, visit his Bandcamp.
