WHAT: Hip hop royalty SO WHAT:  GZA/The Genius is a founding member of the seminal hip hop group the Wu-Tang Clan. His solo work has been just as influential, with albums like Liquid Swords (produced by RZA), still sounding fresh and innovative as ever. He will be backed by a full band for these performances, so don’t miss out! NOW WHAT: Tickets start at $35!
TUESDAY, JULY 25th Tuesdays on the Terrace @ Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, 220 E Chicago Ave., 5:30PM
WHAT: Enjoy an evening of free music on the MCA’s Anne and John Kern Terrace Garden SO WHAT: This annual summer performance series, hosted by Al Carter-Bey from WDCB 90.0 FM and Richton Guy Thomas from WHPK 88.5 FM, highlights artists from Chicago’s internationally renowned jazz community. This evening will feature the Willie Pickens Trio! In case of rain, the event moves inside to the MCA’s Kovler Atrium. NOW WHAT: The concert series is free and open seating is still available on the terrace or bring a blanket to relax on the lawn.  MCA currently has their regular food service for this event including a buffet, which features a changing menu of themed dishes using fresh, locally grown produce for $30 per person. WHAT: Enjoy live outdoor music, craft beer, local food and family-friendly fun this summer in the heart of Lakeview! SO WHAT: Lakeview Live is a series that showcases the sounds of Chicago’s talented musicians and performers and celebrates Lakeview’s local businesses. There will be plenty of beer, wine, and food from several local restaurants located around the event. This evening's performers will include Dance Bullies and Mike Maimone NOW WHAT: The series is free to attend! Margaret Glaspy and Liza Anne @ Lincoln Hall, 2424 N Lincoln Ave., 8:00PM
WHAT: Two great musicians on one night SO WHAT: Margaret Glaspy is back in town after a wonderful opening set for the Lumineers and a sold-out show at Schubas this year. This time she’ll be sharing her amazing songs at Lincoln Hall along with the equally impressive musician Liza Anne! NOW WHAT: Tickets are $20 for this great show. CHIRP Night w/ Mother Nature & Pledge Drive @ The Whistler, 2421 N Milwaukee Ave., 8:00PM
WHAT: A monthly dose of CHIRP-curated music at the Whistler SO WHAT: Every fourth Wednesday of the month, CHIRP takes over The Whistler for an evening of great music performed by CHIRP-curated local artists. You will be able to enjoy some wonderful music, the Whistler’s take on classic cocktails, and the good feeling of supporting independent radio at this monthly event. This edition of the event will feature the funk punk of Pledge Drive and the hip hop of  Mother Nature! NOW WHAT: There is no cover for this 21+ event, so just find your way to the Whistler and have a great time!
