Fan Favorite The Sound of Music Sing-A-Long Returns to Music Box Theatre
This guest Screens post was written by Matthew Nerber.
A Thanksgiving tradition as reliable as Grandma’s pumpkin pie, the Music Box Theatre once again invites fans of the 1965 best picture winner The Sound of Music to “solve a problem like Maria” as they count a “few of their favorite things” and sing-along with the Von Trapps in glorious technicolor.[caption id="attachment_21134" align="aligncenter" width="917"] Image courtesy of Music Box Theatre[/caption]
Not sure of all the lyrics? No problem. The Music Box provides the words projected on screen, as well as (according to the press release) a pre-show costume contest with interactive fun packs for kids and adults.
Guests will be led through a vocal warm-up before hearing instructions on how to use their complimentary props at specific points during the film, much like the infamous interactive screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
A holiday favorite, the Music Box Theatre’s The Sound of Music Sing-A-Long begins this Friday, November 24 and runs weekends until Sunday, December 3. A full schedule, including showtimes and information on purchasing tickets is here.
