Need plans for this pre-Christmas? We have you covered (for the most part)! There are concerts, pop-ups for all your last minute gifts, and even a holiday costume contest to keep you in the winter spirit (because this weather sure isn’t helping). So don’t just sit back, go out and explore the events!

Happy Hour Pop-Up @ Field Notes Midwest HQ, 401 N Racine Ave., 4:00PM – 7:00PM
WHAT: A pop-up shop with some incredibly talented folks
SO WHAT: Stop by Field Notes HQ for the final happy hour market of the holiday season! There will be cold ones from Half Acre Beer Company, snacks from Big Delicious Planet, and an excellent gathering of creators. Threadless, Shawn Smith of Shawnimals, Manual, and Mr. Walters of Nerfect Artistic Novelties will be on hand with their wonderful products and a fair amount of nerdy design conversation. This is also a great chance to stock up on Field Notes products including rarities, press sheets and other surprises.
NOW WHAT: It’s free! Go out and get yourself some unique gifts! A quarter from every dollar you spend on Field Notes will go to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, so dig deep.

Jillian Evelyn’s Pop-Up & Party @ Galerie F, 2415 N Milwaukee Ave., 6:00PM – 10:00PM
WHAT: A little holiday cheer from Galerie F
SO WHAT: Stop by for an alternative holiday party where the tacky Christmas decorations are replaced with amazing art by Jillian Evelyn, and LA based artist who creates beautiful contorted figures with a mix of acrylic and latex paint. Their will be plenty of egg-nog and beer from Marz Community Brewing for you to partake in during this party and pop-up!
NOW WHAT: Get festive with the amazing people at Galerie F and find some last-minute & definitely-worth-the-wait gifts at this one night pop-up!

Kool Keith: A Very Kool Xmas 4 @ Logan Arcade, 2410 W Fullerton Ave., 8:00PM, 21+
WHAT: Logan Arcade‘s fourth annual Kool Keith: A Very Kool Xmas Party
SO WHAT: Kool Keith is a master of the rap game with a myriad of unique aliases and projects. The man has thrown down some of the most surreal and abstract verses ever and this annual appearance is not to missed. He will be joined by Supa Emcee Supremacee, Lamon Manuel, and DJ X-Ray!
NOW WHAT: Tickets are $13.50 for this annual Xmas miracle!


Esso Afrojam Funkbeat & Local Motive @ Emporium Arcade Bar Wicker Park, 1366 N Milwaukee Ave., 9:00PM, 21+
WHAT: Two great local acts in one shiny venue!
SO WHAT: Stop by Emporium’s Wicker Park location to jump into some excellent and diverse music soundscapes. Esso Afrojam Funkbeat takes elements of world music and brings them into a local preservative, adding in beautiful urban poetry and glorious group singing,  Local Motive blends soulful melodies with some intense old school rhythm and blues.

Zeshan B “Home For Christmas” with Lili K @ Schubas, 3159 N Southport Ave., 9:00PM, 18+
WHAT: A night of soulful singers
SO WHAT: Join Zeshan B & Transistors as they return from the road to their Chicago home for an evening of excellent tunes. Zeshan B will have some brand new songs to debut during this show, so don’t miss out on this Pre-Christmas Shindig!! Chicago’s fabulous Lili K will also be on hand delivering songs her amazing voice!

Nightmare Before Christmas Party @ Headquarters Beercade, 213 W Institute Pl., 8:00PM, 21+
WHAT: What’s This? What’s This? There’s Christmas Everywhere…
What’s This? There’s Money in the Air!
SO WHAT: Headquarters Beercade is celebrating the holiday season with a big costume contest! Figure out your best holiday themed costume for a chance to win a $500 grand prize! Even if you aren’t the lucky winner, there’s pinball, arcade games, and some delicious food/drinks for you to enjoy!

Harold Green Presents: Celebration of Flowers for the Living @ The Promontory, 5311 S Lake Park Ave., 8:00PM, All Ages
WHAT: An evening of amazing local talent at the Promontory!
SO WHAT: Harold Green and his FFTL (Flowers for the Living) Collective are back for a big celebration of this great show. This dynamic night of live music, spoken word, and amazing vocals, will feature the best that Chicago has to offer.
NOW WHAT: Tickets start at $30.62 for this interesting and eclectic night.

Windy City Soul Club @ The Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave., 8:30PM, 21+
WHAT: The best soul dance party in Chicago turns 9!
SO WHAT: Windy City Soul Club has been throwing down amazing tunes for Chicagoans to dance their nights away for quite a while and have never disappointed. Armed with turntables and a never ending stream on warm vinyl, WCSC DJs dig through every type of Soul you could imagine. Northern Soul, Motown-style gems, regional hits, the best dancing tunes, and classics that will have you singing along at the top of your lungs.
