Welcome to the first day back from the holidays! We hope you had a lovely time celebrating with friends and family. If you've still got some friends, family and kiddos around and you're looking for more holiday fun, you might want to check out this week's calendar of events at the Brookfield Zoo. Their Holiday Magic event has been running weekends all through December, but in its final week there's an event every single day. There are arts and crafts, dancers, and even a kid friendly New Year's Eve celebration to round out the year.
Holiday Magic features an astounding amount of holiday lights, access to many of the zoo's exhibits after dark (though some animals may have been put to bed already), cookie decorating, ice sculpting and photo opps inside a 20 ft rainbow colored orb. There's also an impressive field of LED trees that sync to various Christmas tunes and are absolutely mesmerizing. You'll be able to keep warm with cocoa, coffee or, for the adults, some holiday spirits, and there's plenty of music and room to run. To cap off your fun, there's also the 41 foot talking tree smack dab in the center of the display.
The festivities run throughout the day but the main event lights up around 4 and runs through 9 pm.
