Gov. Rauner: Republican Tax Law Has Pluses and Minuses

Governor Bruce Rauner says he believes that the Republican tax overhaul benefits businesses, but he reiterated the popular criticism that it doesn't do enough for the middle class. For Illinoisans, the key negative factor is the $10,000 cap on deduction of state and local taxes. But he believes the new tax law supports his goals of freezing property taxes and eliminating the state income tax increase. (Chicago Tribune)
