All Signs Point To McCarthy Running For Mayor
Former Chicago police Superintendent Garry McCarthy has all but come out and made a formal announcement to running for Mayor of Chicago in 2019. McCarthy, who served the city for four years until he was fired during the fallout of the Laquan McDonald shooting, said he’s planning a February campaign fundraiser at the Irish American Heritage Center, ABC7 reports. He filed paperwork for an exploratory campaign committee in September. A website - Garryformayor.com - went live on Monday (Tribune).
