Mixed-Income Artists’ Residences Being Built in Washington Park

The KLEO Art Residence, a four-story 58-unit mixed-use building is being built at the corner of Garfield Boulevard and South Michigan Avenue. Mayor Rahm Emanuel was on hand for the ground-breaking this week. The L-shaped building will include retail and studio space on the ground floor with 49 apartments at affordable rents and 9 units at market rate above. Chicago design firm JGMA designed the building with a two-toned translucent facade. (Via Curbed Chicago.)
