Near-Record Temperatures for January on Thursday
Chicago could see record setting temperatures - warm ones - on Thursday. The Chicago Tribune reports the temperature at O’Hare reached 56 degrees at 8:00a.m. this morning, and a bank on Archer avenue in Bridgeport showed a temperature of 59 degrees around 10:00a.m. According to CBS2, the record high in Chicago is 61 degrees, which happened in 1880. The break in the cold will be brief, however, with temperatures returning to the mid-20’s Thursday evening and dropping further over the weekend.
