MoviePass Drops River East 21, Nine Other AMC Theaters in Pricing Dispute

MoviePass, a subscription ticket service, has dropped 10 busy AMC theater locations, including Chicago's River East 21, because of AMC's objections to its pricing and other demands. MoviePass offers one movie ticket a day for a monthly fee of $9.95 to its 1.5 million subscribers. AMC objects to the company's pricing and to its demand for $3 per ticket and 20 percent of concession sales from movie theaters, based on customer purchases using the MoviePass app (Chicago Tribune).
