Sun Times’ Richard Roeper Reportedly Bought Fake Followers
According to a New York Times report that studied the purchases of fake social media followers, Chicago Sun-Times movie critic and long-time Roger Ebert co-host Richard Roeper is one of many celebrities who have bought followers. Roeper was to begin writing a news column for the Sun-Times before news broke of this allegation, but Editor Chris Fusco paused Roeper's column while the investigation is underway (Chicago Tribune). New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman is investigating Devumi, the company behind the fake followers.
