Outright Nazi To Get GOP Nomination For 3rd District

An outright Nazi is poised to become the Republican nominee in the primary election for the seat to represent the 3rd Illinois Congressional District. Arthur Jones, a Holocaust denying anti-Semite who was a former leader in the American Nazi Party and currently runs a group called the America First Committee, will be able to secure the nomination because he’s running unopposed. Though a spokesperson for the Illinois GOP said they oppose Jones and “there’s no place” for him in their party, Republicans did not choose to run a credible candidate in the District, and he could not be knocked off the ballot. The Democratic candidates for the 3rd District are incumbent Rep. Dan Lipinski, and challenger Marie Newman (Sun-Times).
