Illinois GOP Says It’s Exploring “Options” To Oppose Nazi Running In Their Party
The Illinois Republican Party says it’s exploring “all options” to oppose a nazi who is poised to be the GOP candidate for the 3rd Congressional District. Arthur Jones, a former leader in the American Nazi party and Holocaust-denying anti-Semite is currently running unopposed, meaning he would be the Republican on the ballot to face the Democratic candidate in the general, either incumbent Rep. Dan Lapinski or challenger Marie Newman. Illinois GOP Executive Director Drew Collins says the party is exploring options such as running an independent after the primary, supporting a write-in candidate, or “potentially other options.” “Nazis have no place in our nation’s democracy, and to that end, we will continue to vehemently oppose everything Mr. Jones stands for,” said Collins.
