Chicago Housing Market Might Make It Attractive for Amazon HQ2

Chicago’s slow-to-recover housing market might make it look good to Amazon in its search for its HQ2 site, says Crain’s real estate specialist, Dennis Rodkin. Chicago not only has lower prices than some markets but also large sections that are ready for a makeover, meaning they can absorb what would eventually be thousands of future Amazon households in new or rehabbed homes. This factor could make Chicago stand out in comparison to places like Silicon Valley and Seattle. Chicago, one of the 20 finalists for HQ2, still has plenty of minuses that can affect its chances. (Crain’s Chicago Business)
