All seven of Illinois Republican Congressman have received money from gun advocacy groups since the 2016 election cycle, totaling $38,500. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) leads the pack with $11,500 in donations, followed by Rep. Mike Bost, with $9,000. All seven Congressman received money from the National Rifle Association, and the rest of the donations are split between the Safari Club International and the National Shooting Sports Foundation. So far none of Illinois’ 11 Democratic representatives have taken money from prominent gun advocacy organizations. One Republican - Peter Roskam (R-Wheaton) - also took $1,000 from the Giffords PAC, a gun control group named after former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Arizona) who was wounded in an assassination attempt where six people were killed and another 14 wounded. (Daily Herald)
