Illinois Legislature to Take Up Gun Control Measures This Week
The Illinois House will introduce a package of gun-control legislation this week in the wake of increased calls for reform after the massacre in Parkland, Florida. Among the proposals included are a bill that would raise the minimum age to purchase assault weapons, a bill that’s been stalled requiring gun shops to have licenses, and one that would allow family members or law enforcement to ask a judge to take away firearms or a FOID card from an individual found to pose an immediate threat to themselves or others.
