St. Patrick's day has come and gone and hopefully so has any hang over that may have occurred. Now it's time to get started with a new week and what better way than by going out and having a great time in this lovely city of ours. Readings, movies, concerts, and some dancing are waiting for you to join in.

MONDAY, MARCH 19th

WHAT: Another edition of this storytelling series that aims to be a safe space for everyone, inclusive of all femme identifying and non-binary individuals.
SO WHAT: Ladylike, the storytelling show where women tell the most disgusting and revealing stories they’ve got, will be taking over Cafe Mustache for two hours of fun! Hosted by Allison Dunne, this edition will feature Rima Parikh, Jenn Sodini, Caroline Twyman, Nicola Elizabeth Sargent, Lia Berman, and Lyn-z Harney!
NOW WHAT: This event is 21+ and there is a suggested donation of $5!
Godspeed You Black Emperor / Tashi Dorji Duo & Liberty @ Metro, 3730 N Clark St., 8:00pm, 18+
WHAT: An excellent show for Metro’s 35th Anniversary
SO WHAT: Godspeed You Black Emperor has been making some of the most epic post rock soundscapes for over two decades (with a slight hiatus in the middle of that). Their music is vast and endlessly beautiful, evoking a depth of emotion that few bands are capable of. Joining them will be the Tashi Dorji Duo with with the elusive Danish saxophonist Liberty.

TUESDAY, MARCH 20th
Kelly Lee Owens / Carmen Villian / Pixel Grip @ Schubas, 3159 N Southport Ave., 8:00pm, 18+
WHAT: Electronic grooves for your Tuesday
SO WHAT: Kelly Lee Owens is making some of the most interesting electronic music out there. It's deep and spacey sounds are highlighted by equally ethereal vocals that grab a hold you in an instant. Joining her will be the chill Carmen Villain and local synth pop group Pixel Grip.

TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20th & 21st
Middle-earth Times: The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy @ Thalia Hall, 1807 S Allport St., 7:00PM, All Ages
WHAT: One (three night) event to rule them all.
SO WHAT: Join Thalia Hall for one, two, or all three nights of director Peter Jackson’s epic adaptation of the J. R. R. Tolkien trilogy! Tuesday night will feature The Fellowship of the Ring, Wednesday will have The Two Towers, and Thursday will end the trilogy with The Return of the King. Come as you are or dress up as their will be a nightly costume contest where winners will receive a collectible pair of Thalia Hall socks for the long journey home.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21st
Ryley Walker March Residency @ Cafe Mustache, 2313 N Milwaukee Ave., 9:00pm, 21+
WHAT: An all improv residency
SO WHAT: Ryley Walker will be having a March residency at Cafe Mustache! Walker will perform two great sets each night with a variety of Chicago musicians jamming their night away. This evening Walker will be joined by Andrew Young (bass), Mikel Avery (drums/percussion), and Tim Stine (guitar).
NOW WHAT: There will be a $5-$10 donation accepted at the door
¡Pachanga! 1 Year Anniversary @ East Room, 2354 N Milwaukee Ave., 10:00pm, 21+
WHAT: Pachanga turns One at the East Room
SO WHAT: Stop by East Room and join in on the party as the Pachanga team will celebrating their one year anniversary with Cumbia/Chicha percussionist Daniel Villarreal of Dos Santos and an all-star deejay line-up playing a variety of hits from Cumbia, Banda, Reggaeton, Merengue, Salsa y more. There will be live painting, a tianguis artist market, and more for you to enjoy!
