Election Primary Winners Waste No Time Campaigning For The November General
Gubernatorial contenders billionaire JB Pritzker and incumbent billionaire Bruce Rauner didn’t waste any time after Tuesday’s primary election to begin campaigning and attacking each other. Already, ads from both campaigns attacking the other in the lead up to the November general election began airing Wednesday. Rauner, who defeated Republican Rep Jeanne Ives called Pritzker a “corrupt insider who’s a tax dodger and machine candidate,” while Priztker, who beat out a crowded field of challengers for the Democratic nomination, said Rauner was a divisive “failure” in his first term as governor. The race between the two is expected to be the most expensive in history, with both men having already put millions of their own dollars into their campaign warchests, along with raising millions more.
