Evanston SPACE Celebrates a Decade of Concerts with Out of Space

There are certain venues that hold a special place in my heart. SPACE in Evanston is one of those. I still remember the first time I walked into the venue and discovered just how impressive it was. The atmosphere reminded me of the cool jazz clubs I was promised as a kid but never actually found. SPACE truly feels special special venue, like a speakeasy updated to modern sensibilities. Whether it's small local acts or national icons like Dr. John and Lucinda Williams, SPACE immediately heightens any concert going experience. In honor of their 10th year providing the north Chicago suburb a place to see spectacular shows, SPACE will be presenting Out of Space, a series of outdoor concerts all summer long throughout Evanston. The multiple meaning, pun titled Out of Space will be welcoming an impressive lineup of musicians to venues like Temperance Beer Co., Canal Shores, and SPACE’s inaugural Big Evanston Block Party at the intersection of Chicago and Dempster. Details are still sparse on the block party, but there are sure to be food trucks, beer from Half Acre, and live performances from some of SPACE's favorite acts helping celebrate 10 years of this wonderful venue.
