We are well into this year's summer and it's been pretty great! Tons of events going on this weekend to keep the fun going,so don't stay in this weekend, get out there and take part in all the festivities going on. Let's get on with your curated weekend! THE WHOLE WEEKEND, JULY 12th - 15th Taste of Chicago @ Grant Park, Thursday & Friday 11:00am - 9:00pm, Saturday & Sunday 10:00am - 9:00pm, All Ages WHAT: The big, over the top food mainstay of Chicago SO WHAT: It may happen every year to mixed results, but you can still find some great things at the Taste of Chicago. There is a hefty list of restaurants participating including food trucks and pop up restaurants that will only be there a day or two. Plus there are tons of musical acts play both free and paid seated sets throughout the weekend. NOW WHAT: Make your way to Grant Park and have yourself a good time. The Taste of Chicago will be open 11:00AM to 9:00PM Wednesday thru Friday, 10:00AM to 9:00PM Saturday and Sunday. The getting into the event is free, but of course you'll have to shell out for food, the Pertillo Shell Music concerts, and such. The Taste of Chicago has the full details. THURSDAY, JULY 12th Argyle Night Market @ Sheridan & Argyle, W Argyle St & N Sheridan Rd, 5:00pm -9:00pm, All Ages WHAT: The 2018 season of the Argyle Night Market! SO WHAT: It's the 6th annual Argyle Night Market this summer. Delicious food, live music, cultural performances, family fun and so much more are waiting for you! Growing in popularity and attendance, the Argyle Night Market draws over 3,500 people on a weekly basis! NOW WHAT: It's free! Check out their event page for a full list of vendors! Dexterity Games with Cards Against Humanity @ Sleeping Village, 3734 W Belmont Ave, 6:30pm, 21+ WHAT:  An evening with the Cards Against Humanity folks SO WHAT: This is a night all about coordination and making the right moves. Test your dexterity with Slap .45, and Flick ‘Em Up, or try some more strategic and careful placement with Rhino Hero and Go Cuckoo. There will also be new Cards Against Humanity cards to playtest if you’re looking for something more relaxed/offensive. NOW WHAT: It's free! Just stop by and check out some games! FRIDAY, JULY 13th Power Couples @ Galerie F, 2415 N Milwaukee Ave., 6:00pm -10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Artistic influence and collaboration at Galerie F SO WHAT: There is strength in numbers, therefore power in couples. For this group show Galerie F explores how artist couples affect and enhance each other's practice - how they collaborate and how their individual work is impacted by their partner. Chicago Urbano @ Subterranean, 2011 W North Ave, 9:00pm, 21+ WHAT: An evening full of dancing, art, and fun times! SO WHAT: ¡Pachanga! is changing things up with a speial edition of their monthly concert series! Pachanga will be welcoming Boi Jeanius and DJ Saab spinning tunes alongside local latin music performers Victor!, Ryen, ZIANNA & Eschicano. Check out all the details on their event page! NOW WHAT: Tickets are $5 SATURDAY, JULY 14th Fugscreens Studios Open House 2 @ All Star Press, 2775 N Milwaukee Ave, Noon - 7:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Fugscreens Studios, the foundation of All Star Press, will open its studio doors for a one-day free to the public open house. SO WHAT: Owned and operated by Zissou Tasseff-Elenkoff, Fugscreens Studios has been operating for over 11 years specializing in gig-posters for local bands, major artists and businesses all over the world. Now after 1 year in Logan Square, Fugscreens Studios has invited everyone to get a behind the scenes look at their studio space and meet some of the featured resident artists. ANCHR Showcase: The Evening Attraction, Cold Beaches, Strange Foliage @ Sleeping Village, 3734 W Belmont Ave, 9:00pm, WHAT: Seriously? It's an ANCHR Showcase. Good Music, good vibes, good times. SO WHAT: ANCHR has  been putting on some awesome shows that really give you a taste of our local music scene. This one will keep up that high quality with the fuzzy garage rock of The Evening Attraction, Cold Beaches' exuberant pop rock, and the noisy energy of Strange Foliage. SUNDAY, JULY 15th Don't Mess With Me, I Sent My Ex to Federal Prison @ Annoyance Theatre & Bar, 851 W Belmont Ave, 8:00pm -9:30pm WHAT: A twisted tale performed by Jennifer Dougherty and directed by Andrew Pond. SO WHAT: Here’s the story. Jenna dates a man for two years (and even goes ring shopping), then discovers that her boyfriend isn’t who he says he is. After he uses identity theft to steal $10,000 from Jenna, she gets the help of her girlfriends to prove her innocence. It’s a really bad breakup that puts the ex in jail.
