EXPO CHICAGO @ Navy Pier, 600 E Grand Ave, Various times, All Ages
WHAT: EXPO CHICAGO, the International Exposition of Contemporary & Modern Art, is back!
SO WHAT: The seventh edition of EXPO CHICAGO features art from over 3,000 artists represented by 135 international galleries, 27 countries, and 63 cities. Admission includes a dynamic roster of on-site programming, including panel discussions, site-specific installations, film and new media works, and special exhibitions by renowned institutions. WHAT: An evening a excellent DJs
SO WHAT: Mount Kimbie are an excellent electronic duo putting out some of the best sounds you'll ever hear. While this isn’t a live performance, their DJ skills are sure to impress, thanks to their extensive collabs and production skills. Joining them will be Savile & Hijo Pródigo!

WHAT: An Oktoberfest Celebration!
SO WHAT: It’s that time of the year when Oktoberfest parties run wild and this one looks particularity special. Revolution will be releasing their yearly Oktoberfest brew with a big celebration featuring some amazing performers including Whitney, Ex Hex, King Khan and the Shrines, White Mystery, and more! WHAT: A night-time market in Chicago’s coolest venue
SO WHAT: By popular demand, Sauced is back with their amazing night market at the always fun House of Vans! They’ll be taking over the skate park/music venue with 50 vendors, food trucks, and artists!

Drinkers With Writing Problems Presents: Lit Up! @ The Kedzie Inn, 4100 N Kedzie Ave, 7:00pm - 9:30pm
WHAT: Drinks and readings!
SO WHAT: Drinkers with Writing Problems produces a show that highlights some of Chicago’s most creative drinkers… I mean writers and performers, along with some of DWWP’ers favorites. This reading series features all genres of writing from first person narrative to young adult fiction to poetry to whatever the writer decides to share with the audience. WHAT: Cards Against Humanity is coming to the MCA!
SO WHAT: Late Night Writers Room is an irreverent night of improv comedy based on the politically incorrect party game Cards Against Humanity, and hosted by its creators. Audience members will pitch their card ideas and the best suggestions are acted out by the Cards Against Humanity writers and improvisers.

SO WHAT: By now you should know that ANCHR puts on some awesome shows that really give you a taste of our local music scene and beyond. This time around they’ve enlisted Seasaw, Dream Version and Uma Bloo for a fantastic night focusing on the pop spectrum!

SO WHAT: Join DZ Records for a night of great music as they continue their quest to put on fun shows! There will be a nice lineup of bands rocking out for your aural pleasure including Neighbors You Know, Mike Dixon, Leah Shoshanah, and Hunt Hunt Hunt Camp.

WHAT: Two wonderful performers at Schubas
SO WHAT: Some lineups are just meant to be. Having performed on the same bill at the beginning of the year, Haley Reed’s gentle and utterly mesmerizing tunes as Lomelda and Stef Chura‘s endlessly powerful and unique voice are back in town for another great show!

WHAT: End the month with a block party at Dusek’s
SO WHAT: Dusek’s 4th Annual Blocktoberfest is a celebration of the restaurant’s anniversary as well as the community that surrounds it. The day is filled with food, beer, punch, games, and more. Music will be provided all day thanks to a lineup of Djs including DJ Jesse De La Pena, Darryn Jones, Yessenia G., Rae Chardonnay, Ariel Zetina, Shazam Bangles, (((SONORAMA))), and Fanita Banana!

Frankenstein Unearthed @ Lookingglass Theatre, 821 N Michigan Ave, 1:00pm -3:00pm, All Ages
WHAT: Four Frankensteins, seriously? This special joint event celebrates four unique productions of Frankenstein to be staged by Chicago theaters during the 2018-19 season.
SO WHAT: Court Theatre with Manual Cinema, Lifeline Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre and Remy Bumppo Theatre Company will stage Frankenstein, celebrating the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s novel, Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus, in which the monster comes to life. What is Chicago’s fascination with this tale? How will the story be told by four different theater companies? Artists David Catlin and Cordelia Dewdney (Lookingglass), Drew Dir (Manual Cinema), Ian Frank and Eliza Stoughton (Remy Bumppo), and Robert Kauzlaric and Ann Sonneville (Lifeline) will answer these questions in a conversation led by Chicago Tribune critic Chris Jones.
