WHAT: Four Frankensteins, seriously? This special joint event celebrates four unique productions of
Frankenstein to be staged by Chicago theaters during the 2018-19 season.
SO WHAT: Court Theatre with Manual Cinema, Lifeline Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre and Remy Bumppo Theatre Company will stage
Frankenstein, celebrating the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s novel,
Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus, in which the monster comes to life. What is Chicago’s fascination with this tale? How will the story be told by four different theater companies? Artists David Catlin and Cordelia Dewdney (Lookingglass), Drew Dir (Manual Cinema), Ian Frank and Eliza Stoughton (Remy Bumppo), and Robert Kauzlaric and Ann Sonneville (Lifeline) will answer these questions in a conversation led by Chicago Tribune critic Chris Jones.
