Concerts, interactive galleries, and Day of the Dead celebrations are highlighted for you to have a fantastic weekend! So grab your best costume and start exploring what Chicago has to offer!

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25th

CHIRP 107.1 FM Broadcast Birthday Bash @ Sleeping Village, 3734 W Belmont Ave., 7:30pm, 21+
WHAT: Celebrate a year of on air goodness!
SO WHAT: It’s been one year since the launch of CHIRP Radio at 107.1FM! They’ve been on the FM airwaves on the Northside of Chicago shelling out some of the best music and want to celebrate this milestone with a party. There will be food, drinks, prizes, sets by CHIRP DJs DJ Stevo and Jessi DiBartolomeo, live music from Fauvely and more!

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26th

WHAT: Two amazing musicians sharing the stage at Schubas
SO WHAT: Brooklyn-based Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn will be be making a stop at Schubas in support of her latest album Understanding. Mirah’s sound is some of the most beautiful pop music you’ll ever hears, thanks to her graceful songwriting and alluring instrumentation. Joining her will be Tomberlin and her heartbreaking and utterly astounding songs.

WHAT: Excellent tunes to finish off your Friday!
SO WHAT: Detroit musician with lots of local ties Anna Burch will be back in town dishing out her pristine and endlessly complex pop! Joining her will be Polyvinyl labelmate Fred Thomas (Saturday Looks Good To Me) and Common Holly’s unpredictable folk music!

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27th

Brew-Ja Crawl 2018 @ Plaza Tenochtitlan, 1800 S Blue Island Ave, Noon – 6:00pm
WHAT: The Third Annual Brew-Ja Crawl!
SO WHAT: Wear your horrifying and fashionable Halloween and Day of the Dead costumes (prize for the best costume) as you sip delicious local brews and libations at over thirteen unique bars and restaurants in Pilsen (+ surprise bonus)! Jump on the trolley or stroll down 18th Street to enjoy the sips and sounds of Pilsen’s finest. There will be DJ’s, live music and colorful personalities at ever turn!

Funhaus 2 @ All Star Press Chicago,2775 N Milwaukee Ave, 6:00pm – 10:00pm, All Ages
WHAT: All Star Press brings some interactive spookiness to their Funhaus!
SO WHAT: Funhaus II  is group visual and interactive exhibition showcasing the surreal, macabre, and otherworldly. This exhibition/show will feature limited edition prints, pins, and other merchandise will be displayed around a completely transformed space. Performers and interactive sections will be going on during the opening event, allowing guests to participate in an immersive experience that will leave them mesmerized and potential collector of an exclusive art oddity.

Cosmic Country Showcase @ The Hideout, 1354 W Wabansia Ave, 9:00pm, 21+
WHAT: Take a country song, slap on some psychedelic vibes, and send it off to space during this concert
SO WHAT: Have you ever found yourself pining for some good ol’ country entertainment like the Grand Ole Opry? Well, you’re in luck! The Hideout and 312unes have set up the most out-there show you’ll see this year: the Cosmic Country Showcase. Hosted by David Brown (of Helltrap Nightmare, so you know it’s going to be good), the Cosmic Country Showcase will feature psychedelic, out-of-this-world country covers and originals from the likes Dougie Poole, Jessica Viscius (Bunny), Andrew Sa, Izzy Olive (Half Gringa), and more!

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28th

An Intimate Hallows’ Eve @ DZ Records, 8548 S 85th Ct, Hickory Hills, IL, 8:00pm – Midnight, All Ages
WHAT: Another DZ Records style party!
SO WHAT: Join DZ Records for a night of great music as they dress up in a cool Halloween costume and party! There will be a nice lineup of bands rocking out for your aural pleasure including Lollygagger , BlackGlass, The Just Luckies, and Thee Arthur Layne!
NOW WHAT: Admission is $10. All proceeds go toward the performing artists.

Día de los Muertos Xicágo @ National Museum of Mexican Art, 1852 W 19th St, 3:00pm – 8:00pm, All Ages
WHAT: A Day of the Dead event for your weekend
SO WHAT: Celebrate Día de los Muertos at the National Museum of Mexican Art as they transform the Museum and surrounding outdoor area into a beautiful space to remember departed loved ones. Guests will enjoy ofrenda (altar) demonstrations, live musical performances, face painting, art activities, and Pan de Muerto (traditional Day of the Dead Bread).
NOW WHAT: This event is free and open to the public and will take place rain or shine.
