Out of SPACE Summer Concert Series Keeps Going at Canal Shores

Honestly, you can't get much better that SPACE in Evanston's beautiful venue and it's excellent curation of acts that grace their stage. So when they stretch their legs outside their speakeasy style, you know it's for a great reason.  Out of Space, a series of outdoor concerts happening through out the summer, is one such excellent reason. Having just wrapped up their stint of Temperance Beer Co. shows this weekend, Out of Space is ready for more! Their next set of shows will be taking place at Canal Shores on Aug 8th –11th! Their return to the much-loved community golf course in Evanston looks just as good as the Temperance Beer Co., maintaing the high quality you'd expect from a SPACE run show! August 8: CAKE After 28 years, CAKE has made a name for themselves thanks to their diverse range of sounds and influences. The band is on the cusp of releasing their seventh album, Age of Aquarius. Their first album in eight years, Age of Aquarius is primed to continue their fun sound and a surefire way to kick off Out of Space's Canal Shores weekend! August 9: Mandolin Orange & I'm With Her Mandolin Orange is the duo of Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz. The pair have been making beautiful Americana tunes that evoke a welcoming aura. Their latest album, Tides of a Teardrop, enlists the help of their touring band to craft it's great collection of songs. Joining them will be the songwriting powerhouse that is I’m With Her. The band brings together Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, and Aoife O’Donovan, all three celebrated songwriters  creating some incredible folk music. August 10: Jeff Tweedy & OHMME You don't get a more legendary local musician than Jeff Tweedy. From Wilco to his amazing solo albums to placing in his son's band, Tweedy is treasure to behold live. He has such a long and deep back catalogue of fantastic songs ready to make your weekend shine. Joining him will be the always amazing OHMME, the amazing experimental project of Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart! Check out our review of their excellent album Parts! August 11: Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers & Suzanne Vega Bruce Hornsby is a legendary musician. Whether it's been with his own bands, playing with the Grateful Dead, composing themes for Spike Lee, or experimenting with genres including Americana, bluegrass, and jazz. His latest release sees Hornsby pushing his talents into a eclectic collection of songs featuring the likes of yMusic, Jack deJohnette, and Justin Vernon Joining him will be the masterful storytelling voice of Susanne Vega
