It's Oktoberfest season so that means that this edition of the curated weekend is filled up with beer-centric events! but just because beer is the center point doesn't mean that there isn't plenty to do beyond the drinks. Concerts, steampunk goodness, art, and pizza (also an art) are awaiting you over the next few days! So grab that umbrella and get out there and enjoy the fun events going on in the city! THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th Rezident: The Good 100 @ Lo Rez Brewing, 2101 S Carpenter St, 6:00pm - 9:00pm, 21+ WHAT:  A great night of art and beers SO WHAT: Rezident is an arts initiative brought to you by Lo Rez Brewing and curated by Pilsen Outpost. Rezident was created to support local Chicago artists by providing them with a safe and lively space to present their work, while also featuring local galleries such as Pilsen Outpost. The initiative aims to celebrate local artists each month with live music, craft beer, and grassroots fundraising. This edition will feature an exhibition titles The Good 100, featuring an exhibition of illustrations by students from the Ladislav Sutnar School of Design and Art in Pilsen, Czech Republic. In addition to seeing the wonderful art and meeting the artists, there will be a Growler Auction with custom art from the artists and live music by Bumbac Joe! NOW WHAT: Entry is free and the exhibit runs through October 13th FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27th & 28th Revolution Oktoberfest 2019 @ The Revolution Brewpub, Milwaukee Ave., between California & Fullerton, Friday 3:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturday Noon - 10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: A Oktoberfest Celebration! SO WHAT: It’s that time of the year when Oktoberfest parties run wild and this one looks particularity fun. Revolution Brewing will be releasing their yearly Oktoberfest brew with a big celebration featuring some amazing performs including amazing local bands like Dehd, Touched by Ghoul, Pool Holograph; plus great touring bands like Parquet Courts, Bongripper, and tons and more! You can check out the rest of the stacked lineup here! NOW WHAT: There will be a $5 suggested donation to benefit the neighborhood school programs of Friends of Goethe School. FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER  27th   BeerHoptacular @ Vertiport Chicago, 1339 S Wood St, 3:00pm - 8:00pm WHAT: A beer festival to expand your beer horizons SO WHAT: The BeerHoptacular is back for its 9th year! They will be taking over the Vertiport Chicago with 75 brewers bringing over 100 craft beers to find the perfect beer for your palate. You'll get to try new local favorites new and old as well as unique brews from all over the place! Some of Chicago’s best food trucks will be around adding some delicious meals the event. There will also be a DJ will be spinning  all your favs, a beer bicycle, a live photo booth and much more. NOW WHAT: Tickets are $59 for general admission and $69 for early entry. The Art of the Slice @ Galerie F, 2415 N Milwaukee Ave, 6:00pm - 10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: CHICAGO PIZZA SUMMIT x GALERIE F SO WHAT: Before hanging out at The 4th Annual Chicago Pizza Summit next weekend, you can head over to the fantastic Galerie F to enjoy some pizza related art adorning their walls! This will be a group exhibition that explores the wonderfully odd visual language of pizza. There will also be complimentary pizza and drinks while supplies last! Yay Pizza! NOW WHAT: It's free! Go out and check out some pizza-y art! SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th InAnimate - A Blake Jones Solo Show @ All Star Press, 2775 N Milwaukee Ave, 6:00pm - 10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Another great art show at All Star Press SO WHAT: InAnimate is a diverse collection of artwork from Blake Jones that creates a new world for viewers to explore. The multimedia exhibition aims to send its audience into a chaotically cartoon landscape filled with Blake’s iconic characters, objects, patterns, and colors. A combination of physical objects and fine art, InAnimate will feature creatures blending in and out of their space and oozing into the real world. There will be multiple collaborations and explorations including, 3D figures, videos, drawings, and paintings for you to explore in All Star Press’ incredible space. NOW WHAT: The show is free! SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th Clairo / beabadoobee / Hello Yello @ Metro, 3730 N Clark St, 6:30pm, All Ages WHAT: A perfect way to end your weekend! SO WHAT: Clairo is a fantastic artist that is on the rise thanks to her amazing voice and chilled-out vibes. Mixing elements of R&B smoothness with undeniable pop sensibilities, Clairo is crafting some of the most engaging songs of the year. She is coming off her great performance at Pitchfork Music Festival and the release of her debut album Immunity! This is your perfect chance to see Clairo in a great smaller venue before she ventures off into arenas, so don't miss out!  Joining her will be beabadoobee and Hello Yello! NOW WHAT: Tickets are $25 for this show! Her first night at Metro is sold out, so don't hesitate on these tickets! Badflower / Weathers / Dead Poets @ Bottom Lounge, 1375 W Lake St, 6:00pm,17+ WHAT: Some great music for the end of your weekend! SO WHAT: Bottom Lounge will be hosting a lineup of fantastic rock bands for an evening you shouldn’t miss. Badflower will be headlining the night in support of their album Ok, I’m Sick First! They will be joined by LA based four piece Weathers who just released the incredibly catchy and synth laced “Lonely Vampire“; and Dead Poet Society with their bluesy leaning alternative rock sound!
