There are tons of concerts, movies, markets and so much more going on this weekend as we start the countdown to the end of the year. WHAT: A celebration of film by Black filmmakers!
SO WHAT: Returning for its 30th year, Gene Siskel Film Center’s Black Harvest Film Festival runs through November 21 featuring dozens of films (short and feature-length, narrative and documentary) from, by and about the Black experience. A decent portion of the selected films have Chicago and Midwestern ties, including the opening night program featuring "select Black Harvest Film Festival short films and the announcement of the winners of The Richard and Ellen Sandor Family Black Harvest Film Festival Prize and the winner of the Sergio Mims Prize for Excellence in Black Filmmaking, followed by a lively reception."

WHAT: An old school experience for the modern age
SO WHAT: Take a trip back in time and head out to a drive-in movie with ChiTown Movies. Ever since the pandemic started and shut down traditional movie screening, a few pop up drive-ins have arrived and ChiTown Movies has persevered, offering up modern movies in this retro setting. WHAT: Shopping, eating, and drinking all in one place
SO WHAT: Grab a drink from the Empty Bottle Bar, and start shopping the Handmade Market Chicago! They will bring a nice collection of makers with beautiful and unique items to the Empty Bottle! WHAT: A craft fair focused on independent makers.
SO WHAT: There will be 170+ independent crafters and makers at this Renegade Craft Fair celebrating DIY spirit for two amazing days. Avoid the chilly weather with a warm weekend full of great creative goods and handmade gifts and much more for this fist stop of the gift-giving season.

CHIRP Record Fair & Other Delights @ Plumbers Hall, 1340 W Washington Blvd., 8:00AM – 6:00PM
WHAT: The CHIRP Record Fair is back for what could be their final outing!
SO WHAT: Fall is here and the CHIRP Record Fair is ready for all your music needs! Join CHIRP at Plumbers Hall to dig through thousands of crates of vinyl records, DVDs, CDs, posters, and more. It’s a music collector’s paradise! More details will be announced soon! In the meantime you can check out their growing vendor list here. Now he's on tour supporting his latest stone cold classic Samurai with a fantastic show at The Salt Shed! If you haven't seen Lupe Fiasco, this is one show you shouldn't miss!
