It's a half and half Curated Weekend as we tackle the final couple of days of January and the first of February! So while we await the groundhog's weather predictions (spoilers: more Winter) let's plan out our weekend with some fun concerts, plays, movies, markets, restaurant experiences and more!

WHAT: Two comedic powerhouses singing some amazing tunes
SO WHAT: You likely know Tim Heidecker as a writer, comedian, or actor, but you need to add songwriter and musician to that already long list of talents. Heidecker has been crafting some incredible albums for quite a while now, leading a more serious tone with folk and Americana songs in albums Fear of Death and his latest Slipping Away. The night won't be completely serious as Heidecker will be joined by the always fantastic Neil Hamburger, who blends comedy and music under the guise of a hilarious character.

WHAT: A taste of the Scandinavian roots of Andersonville
SO WHAT:Andersonville‘s annual Fika Fest (formerly Hygge Fest) is a go this year with plenty of sales, pop-ups, and more. For three days businesses around Andersonville will be embracing the state of mind of Fika (a coffee and cake break) with some great promotions. There will be a Coffee & Cocoa Crawl on February 1 and a Puzzle Exchange on February 2!

WHAT: A night of fantastic music
SO WHAT: British artist David Gray will be on tour in support of his latest album Dear Life and will be stopping by the Chicago Theatre for an unforgettable show. Joingin him will be Sierra Spirit Kihega, a native artist (Otoe-Missouria and Keetoowah Cherokee) who just released her gorgeous debut EP coin toss last year. Pub Crawl: Learn, Pitch, Publish @ StoryStudio Chicago online, anywhere, various times
WHAT: For writers, learning about the publishing process—the good, the bad and the editing—can be a huge help in overcoming the psychological marathon of a first book. An incredible local resource is StoryStudio Chicago’s Pub Crawl, an annual month-long online publishing intensive.
SO WHAT: Programming for this year’s iteration kicks off on February 2 at 6pm CT with “Overview of Publishing,” a free Zoom event with StoryStudio Chicago’s artistic director Rebecca Makkai, bestselling author of I Have Some Questions for You (register online here). A second free event, “Inside the World of Booksellers,” will be held on Sunday, February 16, at 6pm CT with the owners of Exile in Bookville, The Book Cellar, and Townie Books.
