WHAT: André Aciman, author of the book that inspired the Oscar-nominated film, discusses the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents’ mansion in northern Italy.
SO WHAT: The novel won the Lambda Literary Award for Fiction; the film adaptation was released last year. The film received a 10-minute standing ovation at the Sundance Film Festival, received eight nominations at the Critics’ Choice Awards, and three Oscar nominations, including best picture.
