Photos: Riot Fest Celebrates 20 Years with a Worthy Kickoff

Riot Fest turns 20 this year, reminding us that we're all getting a little older. But no matter how many years pass, Riot Fest keeps putting on a fantastic festival. Especially when the weather is as perfect as it was during day one.

The first day of Riot Fest featured tons of performances including local midwest surf rockers La Rosa Noir, an album play from Samiam, a completely mesmerizing Rico Nasty, and much more. While all the stages featured great highlights, it was Weird Al Yankovic's Weird World Stage that truly captured the off-the-beaten-track that Riot Fest often excels at. With performances from Shonen Knife, Mac Sabbath, Puddles Pity Party, Camper Van Beethoven, Sparks, and a phenomenal stage closing set from Weird Al himself, Weird World was a stage we were happy to call home for most of the day.

Check out some photos from day one below and if you still need tickets for Saturday and Sunday, they are available over at Riot Fest's website.
