Third Coast Rewind: Bloody Haymarket

Welcome to the inaugural episode of Third Coast Rewind, the supplemental podcast of 3CR. Each episode will focus on a specific topic relating to the vast cultural landscape of Chicago though interviews, conversations between with the writers at 3CR, and special features.

This episode centers around Kim Campbell and her interviews with the actors and producer of Bloody Haymarket, a new play that gives an epic and detailed look at the events surrounding the Haymarket Riots. The play deals with issues such as workers’ rights, corruption, and police brutality that have an interesting parallel with modern times. This episode features producer/actor Ben David Garza and actors Ric Morgan, Asta Razma, Tonya Simmons,and Elliot Lerner.

Bloody Haymarket will playing at the Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 N Knox Ave. Shows will run on Saturday nights from April 30 to May 28, with a special performance on Wednesday, May 4. Tickets are available for $20.
