The Legacy of Deborah Boardman at Heaven Gallery
In 2015, Chicago artist Deborah Boardman died (1958 - 2015) after uplifting, inspiring and encouraging artists from a vast variety of media and backgrounds. Boardman worked for 30 years in painting, drawing, illustration, writing, education, sound/video and installation. Her work, known for color, pattern and narrative, playfully and seriously questioned the in-between moments in life.
In the last page of Boardman's notebook, dated August 2015, she wrote, "What is the message — How can I share it with others?"
Heaven Gallery in Wicker Park will be featuring the works of Deborah Boardman, Howard Fonda, Jackie Kazarian, Sabina Ott, Diane Christiansen, Ryan Richey, Jin Lee, Jeroen Nelemens, Ellen Rothenberg, Dianna Frid, Laurie Palmer, Paola Cabal, Jackie Kazarian, Wendy Mason, Edra Soto, and Dan Sullivan in the collective survey.
,Heaven Gallery is located at 1550 N. Milwaukee Ave. The opening reception is Friday, January 29, from 7 to 11pm.
