ALL WEEKEND LONG, JUNE 20th - JUNE 23rd Out of Space @ Temperance Beer Co., 2000 Dempster Street, Evanston, IL, 6:00pm -10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Evanston SPACE presents Out of Space, a series of outdoor concerts all summer long throughout Evanston. SO WHAT:  The multiple meaning, pun titled Out of Space will be welcoming an impressive lineup of musicians to Temperance Beer Co. and Canal Shores for a summer full of the best music you could hope for! THURSDAY, JUNE 20th Cinepocalypse 2019 @ Music Box Theatre, 3733 N Southport Ave, 3:30pm - 10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: The final day of the Midwest’s largest gathering of genre films and the fans who love them SO WHAT: If you have any interest in the wide world of genre film making, then this event is perfect for you. Cinepocalypse brings together an amazing slew of many guests, films, and events for the week long fest. Today is the final day of the scary, wacky, and alaways amaizng festival, so this is your last chance to experience it! You'll be able to catch The Last to See Them 3:30pm, Ghost Killers vs. Bloody Mary 5:30pm and the grand finale: the 25th anniversary 35mm screening of Airheads with director Michael Lehmannin attendance! Sauced Spring Night Market @ House of Vans, 113 N Elizabeth St., 5:00pm - 10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: A night time market in Chicago’s coolest venue SO WHAT: By popular demand, Sauced is back with their amazing night market at the always fun House of Vans! They’ll be taking over the skate park/music venue with a few dozen vendors, food trucks, and a few SAUCED-style surprises.! Muralists Brain Killer and Lisa Fray will be live painting THE WALL throughout the night! NOW WHAT: It’s free with RSVP! This event is all ages! Lucette & The Long Lost @ Schubas, 3159 N Southport Ave, 9:00pm, 18+ WHAT: A great evening of interesting tunes SO WHAT:  Lucette’s particularly lovely sound is as exhilarating as it is varied. Her latest album Deluxe Hotel Room takes roots music through a journey into R&B and soul, resulting in a pop-forward sound that never loses its hold on the listener. Throughout the album interesting synths and powerful drum beats (added by her producer Sturgill Simpson) illuminate her raw and incredibly personal lyricism. From love to mental health and more, Lucette handles topics beautifully with her alluring voice. Joining her at Schubas will be local Americana/Alt-country group The Long Lost! FRIDAY - SUNDAY, JUNE 21st - 23rd Ruido Fest @ Union Park, 1501 W Randolph St, Friday 3:00pm -10:00pm, Saturday & Sunday 1:00pm -10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Another great year of this fantastic Latin alternative music SO WHAT: Ruido Fest is back and in a new location ready to celebrateLatin music and culture this summer! The fest has moved over to the bigger Union Park to bring together the arts and music scene in Chicago's Latino community for three fun days with an impressive lineup of musicians from all over the Spanish-speaking world. FRIDAY, JUNE 21st & 22nd Chi-Soul Fest @ Navy Pier, 600 E Grand Ave, 10:00am - 10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: The Chicago Soul Music Festival is an inter-generational musical conversation of Chicago soul music presented in honor of Black Music Appreciation Month. SO WHAT: Navy Pier will be filled with some excellent soul music throughout the campus including the likes of Sam Trump, Krystal Metcalfe, Oliv Blu and many more! You'll also be able to enjoy pop ups like Ayana Contreras' “Energy Never Dies” with panel discussions (10:00am -10:00pm) and The Silver Room Block Party preview (1:00pm - 6:00pm). FRIDAY, JUNE 21st Make Music Chicago @ Venues All Over Town, 10:00am - 10:00pm, All ages WHAT: A day with tons of music happening in Chicago! SO WHAT: This annual festival takes place on the summer solstice, June 21, at over 200 venues throughout the Chicagoland area. There will be performances of all musical styles by established musicians. There will also be dozens of opportunities for the public of all ages and abilities to join in the music making. Head out there and discover some amazing music!   Sinkane w/ Bassel & The Supernaturals @ Chop Shop, 2033 W North Ave, 8:00pm, 18+ WHAT: Some wonderful music that will brighten the mood and get you dancing. SO WHAT: Sinkane is the project of the genre blending Ahmed Gallab. His music takes influence from so many different music styles, culminating in sound that is utterly danceable and increasingly unique with every passing album. Check out our reviews of the last couple of times we caught him opening and headlining at Lincoln Hall! Joining Sinkane and his incredible band will be look soul stalwarts Bassel & The Supernaturals! SATURDAY & SUNDAY, JUNE 22nd & 23rd Chicago Food Truck Festival @ South Loop Green Space, 2400 S. State St., 10:00am - 7:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Chicago Food Truck Festival is ready for its 6th annual Gourmet Food Truck Festival SO WHAT: Join the Chicago Food Truck Festival as they gather up 45+ gourmet food trucks for two days of great food! Feast on tasting chef prepared dishes and delight your palate with a splash of Sangria or some incredible beers. There will also be plenty of great games and live music? Chicago Pride Fest @ Boystown on Halsted Street from Addison to Grace St., 11:00am - 10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: The official Chicago Pride Fest SO WHAT: No one celebrates Pride better than Northalsted! Chicago Pride Fest, held during National Pride Month, celebrates the LGBTQ+ achievements as a community in their annual two-day street festival leading up to Chicago’s world famous Pride Parade the following week. Entertainers from across the globe perform to crowds filled with PRIDE as Chicago celebrates LGBTQ+ history. See the full lineup of performers here! NOW WHAT: There is $10 suggested donation at the gate which benefits the community and local charities, whose mission is to serve youth and families facing homelessness. SATURDAY, JUNE 22nd Vegandale Food Drink Festival 2019 @ Butler Field in Grant Park, 400 E. Monroe St., 11:00am - 7:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Explore the wide world of Vegandale! SO WHAT: Over 100 of the best vendors from across North America will be available for one day only, dishing up incredible vegan food, drinks and merchandise. All five of your senses will be treated on this special day with  great music, stage entertainment, larger than life art installations and games that you look forward to each summer. NOW WHAT: Tickets are $15!  They are available now and at the door! Alive & Well//Vendor Fair & Day Party @ The Silver Room Pop Up,1302 N Milwaukee Ave, Noon - 8:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Alive & Well is a vendor fair created to honor culture, community , and Slow Fashion. Slow Fashion is clothing made ethically that keeps quality and craftsmanship as its core ideal. Many participating vendors are resellers of high quality vintage and one of a kid pieces made to last. SO WHAT: Join Silver Room at their Wicker Park location for a day with 20 local vendors, chair massage, tarot, individualized poems, dance performances, great food, and DJS throughout the day. DJs will include DJ ZZzosma, Sonny Daze, Daryll Mellowman, and Shon Dervis Smith. NOW WHAT: This event is free!  Go out and support this great shop and event! SUNDAY, JUNE 23rd   Chicago Reader Pride Block Party @ Marz Community Brewing, 3630 S Iron St, 1:00pm - 9:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Chicago Reader is celebrating Chicago's rich and diverse half century of LGBTQ+ community legacy with an all-day, all-ages block party at Marz Community Brewing! SO WHAT: This great event will include a diverse array of artists, communities, and small businesses taking part in the party! This gathering aims to be an intergenerational, cross-community effort to honor the people working to amplify LGBTQ+ community and their stories, as well as pay homage to Chicago's LGBTQ+ history and the icons who made it.
